De-Lidder - Midas Technology
|
|
|
|
De-lidders remove lids from hermetic packages for
rework, quality control and failure analysis. Its proprietary dual-helix
carbide tool mills smoothly through the welded outside edge of the lid flange,
freeing the lid and leaving a reseal-ready package surface. The system protects
packages from particles, vibration, and dimensional changes, so parts can be
de-lidded multiple times with pushbutton ease. Can be used for round and
rectangular and square packages. |

De-Lidder model D5F8 - For oversized Optical
The D5F8 de-lidder™ is larger than our standard D5L6 (DL-4A size) model, so it
can handle oversized modules as well as all smaller packages such as common
rectangular butterfly and DIPs which can be secured with the lid flat on the
work surface. In addition D5F8 has special features to safely accommodate
attached optical fibers. |

De-Lidder model D5F
- For Optical Fiber Applications
D5F6 and D5F8 de-lidders™ are designed for straight-sided
packages with attached optical fibers. As with our D5L models, parts are
normally positioned lid-down on the worksurface, held in place by
torque-limited screws. However D5Fs have vital fiberfriendly features developed
in collaboration with top optical manufacturers. |

De-Lidder model D5L
Both D5 de-lidder™ series are designed to be modular, expandable for oversize
packages, easily maintainable, and certifiable under contemporary global
standards. The chassis is far more rigid and stable than our DL4 and earlier
models, thanks to an interlocking structure and upgraded fasteners. |

De-Lidder model D5R3
The D5R3 (rotary) de-lidder™ brings our proven rectangular
lid removal technology to facilities that work only with round packages and
headers. Our kovar-optimized micrograin carbide tools mill through the cap
flange and weld interface as the part rotates on a motorized precision
turntable, recreating a smooth reseal surface on the original header. Width of
cut is adjusted by moving the turntable toward or away from the cutter. Cut
depth is adjusted by raising or lowering the tool spindle. Platter fixtures for
each package type provide accurate centering. Built-in tool cowl and conductive
hoses pull debris away from part into (optional) 59db cleanroom vacuum. |
